PS: We beat Cirpo (organizer of NodeJS Conf Italy) on time, since he would have started a Node community after the event – that will take place in Brescia on the 10th of November. We are sorry!

After the event in Rome, I was exhausted for few days and pretty excited at the same time. For the first time I went to university directly from my home, which are respectively Rome and London (UCL).

So excited and full of energy that I participated at Launch48. A very British version of Start-up weekend. The event took place in UCL (this means that I woke up 7 out of 7 mornings to go to university). Still, at the event I meet infinitely many interesting people, very few devs though. I hope I could have spent more time with the mentors, that often appeared and more often disappeared.

Anyway, this is how it went. I was undecided whether I should have presented my idea or not. 5 minutes before the event started, I decided to go on stage and pitch it. I had no idea what to say apart from saying that “Feetshot – take pictures of your feet and places you stand on. We change the way you take pictures and way you think about every step you do.”. People voted the idea, the morning after we started.

Although someone may think I am a feticist, I am not. Ernesto who originally had the idea, probably is.

I am not going to spend other words on this.

48 hours, 3 developers, and a bunch of biz guys made this: feetshot.com, go and check it out.

I had a speech. That has been for me a life-experience that I will never forget. I will post the video as soon as it is published.

Today I gave a speech on a stage with students, professors, entrepreneurs.

I can still feel adrenaline.

Amazing and catching experience. I have never been so excited to explain my research and my works. I gave a 18-mins speech on the importance of content propagation.

The event was in Italian language, official subtitles from TED should be coming soon.

It has been an amazing experience. Few days ago, I was in Copenhagen at the Experimentarium, invited by the European Commission for being one of the finalists for the E-Skills awards. As I explained in my previous topic I passed the European selection for “Excellent research in Digital Technology“.

With infinite satisfaction I can now say that I won the European award as runner-up (2nd place). My research consisted in a 40 pages paper about “Analysis of content-propagation in online social networks through graph theory and matrices“.

I hope I will have to give more info about that. The award I hold in my hands in the picture is now in Telecom Italia in Rome. I spent an entire summer there researching on this topic with engineers, sociologists and physicists.

The project I presented is obviously my initial Extended Essay in Mathematics, tutored by my professor David Harris, that during this summer internship inTelecom Italia, tutored by Massimiliano Spaziani, became a concrete piece of software now called BrunoApp.

I have never participated in an international event or competition outside Italy. I was incredibly surprised and absolutely overjoyed when I received an email from Brussels saying that I have been selected as finalist for Excellent Research by the European Union for the contest E-Skills for students less than 21 years old. This means that on the 30th of March I will be in Copenhagen for the cerimony.

The project I presented is obviously my initial Extended Essay in Mathematics, tutored by my professor David Harris, that during this summer internship in Telecom Italia, tutored by Massimiliano Spaziani, became a concrete piece of software now called BrunoApp.

Yesterday I told this joke to my father: “The other finalist is a Greek (which in Italian corresponds to Greco my family name), the good thing is that at least one Greco will win the award”
Victory or not, I am happy. For the first time, I feel like swimming as a fish that migrates from the Mediterranean sea, to the Atlantic Ocean.

PS: I am absolutely excited to meet the Princess of Denmark!
