Finalist in Copenhagen E-Skills Week 2012

I have never participated in an international event or competition outside Italy. I was incredibly surprised and absolutely overjoyed when I received an email from Brussels saying that I have been selected as finalist for Excellent Research by the European Union for the contest E-Skills for students less than 21 years old. This means that on the 30th of March I will be in Copenhagen for the cerimony.

The project I presented is obviously my initial Extended Essay in Mathematics, tutored by my professor David Harris, that during this summer internship in Telecom Italia, tutored by Massimiliano Spaziani, became a concrete piece of software now called BrunoApp.

Yesterday I told this joke to my father: “The other finalist is a Greek (which in Italian corresponds to Greco my family name), the good thing is that at least one Greco will win the award”
Victory or not, I am happy. For the first time, I feel like swimming as a fish that migrates from the Mediterranean sea, to the Atlantic Ocean.

PS: I am absolutely excited to meet the Princess of Denmark!

Tempo fa, dopo aver visto Lawrence Lessig dal vivo ed essermi accertato che fosse una persona in carne ed ossa, ero sicuro che un giorno qualcuno con un team di avvocati avrebbe creato un generatore non di licenza ma di privacy. Questo articolo arriva un po’tardi. Se siete iscritti a FriendFeed, molto probabilmente avrete assistito al fenomeno virale del #cartellobizzarro. Per raccogliere tutti i cartelli bizzarri ci voleva un sistema che li aggregasse. Non sono solito a fare questo tipo di cose, ma mi sembrava carino e l’ho realizzato: http://cartellobizzarro.com.

Un saluto a Luca che, poverino, avrà visto i cartelli uno per uno. Credo che il codice del parser e il codice della pagina li rilascerò in un pacchetto sotto GPL, così, nel caso servisse lo potrete utilizzare.

I tried sandbox, i tried carrington but no framework satisfied me like Thematic did. I think It’s the simplest like structure. It’s full of filter and actions to use. I suggest you this link for the framework theme comparision.

Questa volta mi rivolgo a chi mi segue dall’Italia. E’nato finalmente oggi Twittami! il nuovo strumento per capire cosa piace alla twittersfera e per diffondere i propri contenuti viralmente, come descritto nella pagina di Twittami.
